the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Fire-hydrants

S.P.C.F.

It is impossible to believe the amount of damage and abuse that fire-hydrants take each and every day. People step on them, dogs pee on them, people kick them, they get left out in the rain, and there have even been cases of people sticking gum on fire-hydrants.

How can you help but feel sympathy for these poor creatures? They are treated so harshly, and no one seems to care for them. No one even cares at all. How would it feel to you if you were leaking and children were playing around in your escaping fluids? Or what if you were old and falling apart and people stepped on you? Not too dang good I would assume. So show some respect for these helpless beings. Remember, they could help save you house, your cat, or even your life someday.

Take a look at some examples of the abuse that fire-hydrants endure for our sake.

-- See the man in the background? He has just flicked his cigarette at the fire-hydrant.

-- How would you like to sit next to a trash can all day? What if someone throws a bag of barf at the trash but misses and it lands on you? Fun? I think not.

-- The abuse this poor soul has endured is painfully obvious.

-- This old thing has been chained and cemented into the ground. That's plain cruel!

If you feel that fire-hydrants are being treated unfairly and you think it's time someone did something about it, then do something!

TAKE ONE HOME AND SLEEP WITH IT!!!
